Tough Luck: Detroit Stories

NR

An oral history of Detroit allows for both participant speakers and listening viewers to begin to understand the complex developments attributed to the city's reality. This film challenges perceptions about Detroit, with critical discussion that goes beyond bankruptcy, emergency management, crime, race and class. Our mission is to deconstruct the root of these issues, by examining the ethos of Detroiters who came of age in the 60s and 70s. Detroit's story began generations before the storytellers' relationship with it. This documentary is a tribute to the human spirit's desire to reconcile our beginnings. Embracing the wisdom and resilience that resides in the "Tough Luck" city is our contribution to it's future.
